Throughout more than 30 years of professional experience, my primary priority has been to protect my patients’ eye health by combining current scientific developments, extensive clinical and surgical experience, and modern ophthalmic technologies to provide accurate diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment options.
My clinical work has focused particularly on glaucoma, cataract and cataract surgery, intraocular lens technologies, OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography),dry eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, and other medical retinal diseases.
At my ophthalmology practice in Ankara, Turkey I place particular emphasis on the detailed evaluation of patients with glaucoma who require long-term follow-up, as well as patients being considered for cataract surgery. My aim is to combine the scientific knowledge and surgical experience I have gained throughout my academic career with an individualized assessment based on each patient’s ocular characteristics and needs.

Cataract surgery is one of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akman’s main clinical and academic areas of expertise. Throughout his professional career, he has performed more than 50,000 cataract surgeries. A significant part of his work in cataract surgery focuses on modern intraocular lens technologies.
